The acquisition accelerates Sun's position in enterprise IT to now include the $15 billion database market and reaffirms Sun's position as the leading provider of platforms for the Web economy and the largest commercial open source contributor. Products are available now, backed by Sun's global service and support.
Sun's acquisition of MySQL opens the door to a much expanded market opportunity for Sun's channel, ISV and OEM partners.
