In order to make your database and application hosting experience with Logicworks as successful as possible, we offer a Managed Database Service available for a flat monthly fee. The service offers a 100% SLA for the database layer and mirrored SAN storage (where stipulated).

Using either clustering, mirroring, replication, dynamic or manual failover configurations, you can rest assured no transactions will be lost for your mission-critical applications, even in the event of hardware failure. As a separate service Logicworks can also migrate your database from your current environment to our hosted service, even cross-platform, as well as upgrade you in the process.

As "Operational DBAs", our service constantly assesses the health of your application and infrastructure, and steps into action when the need arises. Database redundancy can be implemented both locally using onboard or external storage, through ”shared-nothing” replication, and to geographically diverse locations using Logicworks’ regional Gigabit Ethernet network.

As part of the set up procedure, working with your Application DBAs, Logicworks will collaboratively design and implement a full suite of health tests which can determine not only if your database instance is up and running, but if it is behaving as expected.

Logicworks will also manage database backups both to the local server itself to ensure rapid restores, as well as offsite. In the event of database failure, or catastrophic events, Logicworks steps in on a 24x7 basis to recover data, initiate a manual fail-over, ensure that dynamic failover has executed properly, or monitor the cluster for capacity, adding nodes as necessary.

As part of MDBS, Logicworks includes periodic database health checks and real-time alerting, implements backup and recovery strategies based on your needs, and can provide and analyze performance reports on request, as well as ad hoc diagnostic and troubleshooting assistance.
