The blixx Smart Plug-in (SPI) for MySQL Databases adds MySQL database monitoring and management capabilities to the HP OpenView Operations (OVO) and Performance products.
With MySQL databases used more and more in productive environments, it becomes a key requirement to effectively manage and monitor these databases. The SPI for MySQL Databases integrates its performance and event detection features with HP OpenView Operations for Unix and the HP OpenView Operations for Windows.
It can help to optimize business processes in the IT department, to proactively prevent problem situations, to pin-point problems and even to identify future performance behaviors based on the historical performance data.
The SPI for MySQL Databases is full featured with threshold monitoring, history data collection, close monitoring of the database Key Performance Indicators, several supporting performance values for advanced correlations, runtime behaviour checks, configuration sanity checks, security related events and customizable monitors like replication delay monitoring. The latest version adds the highly requested feature of configuration and change monitoring. It integrates with the HP Software Operations/Unix and Operations/Windows products for the threshold monitoring and problem resolution, as well as the HP Performance Agents/Components for the performance data collection. The performance data collection allows online bottleneck analysis, history and trend reporting, and the correlation of the database metrics with the metrics provided by OpenView e.g. for Operating System statistics or Webserver and Application metrics.
The configuration is easy and requires only a minimum effort from the customer side.
